This painting was done in plein air at a friends property in Coalfield, Tennessee. I was fascinated by the colors of the old wagon. Local legend has it that it had been painted for use in the community’s annual Christmas parade. It was fun to imagine all the many adventures this “old friend” must have seen had before it came to rest.
