Metcalf Bottoms in Bloom

After a few years of missed opportunities for my Annual Plein Air Smokies Spring Wildflower Pilgrimages, I was determined this year would be different. In April, we set up our camper at our favorite campground, a short drive from the national park's Townsend entrance. This provided several wonderful days of plein air painting in the Park. On this day the Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area was home to some particularly enthusiastic blooms, allowing me to capture this idyllic image of Springtime in the Smokies. 11 x 14 Original Acrylic on Canvas
